A scholarly response on what the Hebrew and Aramaic Bible says concerning LGBTI people.

26. ROMANS ROAD TO SALVATION: It seems that a lot of people don’t know how we as Christians are saved. Paul said this: “Now we know that whatever the law says, it is said to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be shut, and all the world may become guilty before God. For by the deeds of the law, no flesh shall be justified before His presence; for by means of the law, sin is known. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, and the very law and prophets testify to it; But the righteousness of God is by the faith of Jesus Christ to everyone, also to every man who believes in him, for there is no discrimination; For all have sinned and are short of the glory of God; For they are freely given righteousness by the grace of God through the salvation which is in Jesus Christ,” (Romans 3:19-24 Lamsa). These verses are saying that we are justified because of Jesus’ righteousness, and our righteousness is our belief (faith) in Jesus and him crucified. In (Romans 10:4 Lamsa) it says: “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one who believes.” Paul said this: “So if you will confess with your mouth our Lord Jesus and will believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For the heart which believes in him shall be declared righteous, and the mouth that confesses him shall live...For whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10: 9-10,13 Lamsa). Paul said this: “...For he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.” (Romans 13:8 Lamsa). Three of the commandments have to deal with honoring God and the other seven commandments deal with loving our neighbor as ourselves. Our neighbor is anyone we associate with and come in contact with. The purpose of the Ten Commandments were to love God and love our neighbor as ourselves. If we have done these, then we have fulfilled the Law according to Paul. In (1Corinthians 6:12 Lamsa) Paul said this: “All things are lawful for me, but all things are not advisable (beneficial); indeed all things are lawful for me but I will not be brought under the power of any (become its slave).” Christians are picking and choosing what things to judge, that God has freely given us. As long as we as Christians love God and our neighbor as ourself, we are fulfilling the Law. Is the Bible Against Homosexuality? by Preacher Mattai © (Ɔ) 2016. All rights reserved.
